Charity focus: Children’s Hospice, Robin House
Every October, we focus on a cancer charity to support. And this year, we’re raising funds for Robin House, the children’s hospice in Balloch.
Robin House doesn’t just help young patients with cancer, they provide respite and services for children with all kinds of life-limiting conditions. A lot of us here in the Clinic are parents, and it’s hard for us to contemplate being in a situation where your child is sick and in need of a CHAS hospice – but they do a really important (and difficult) job in caring for and supporting kids and their families at a time where they really need all the support they can get. We hope you can help us help them.

What we’re doing
Through the month of October, we’re selling raffle tickets for some fabulous prizes. You can get your tickets from reception at The Lomond Clinic, they’re only £1 each, or £10 each for a Golden Ticket for our extra-special prize. Please buy as many as you can, and help us spread the word. The winners will be drawn at our CHAS fundraising coffee morning on Friday 24th October – so come and join us for a cuppa, some cake and a great charity cause! See more about the coffee morning

Robin House – A Special Place for Families
Robin House in Balloch is part of the charity CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland), which you will no doubt have heard of.
But what you might not know is that Robin House is much more than a children’s hospice – it’s a genuine ‘home from home’ where families can find respite, support and precious time together. This supportive facility offers everything from hydro pools and art rooms to peaceful gardens where children can just be children, alongside quiet spaces for reflection when families need it most.
What makes Robin House special is how it provides palliative care while supporting the whole family during incredibly challenging times, offering not just medical care but practical and emotional support, bereavement services, and vital respite breaks that help families recharge. The hospice focuses on ‘memory making’ – creating opportunities for families to build precious moments together. It’s a place where there’s laughter and play as well as compassionate care, and an environment where families can focus on making memories together.
