Private blood testing is now available at The Lomond Clinic

It can be frustrating to feel that something isn’t quite right with your health and not be able to get a clear answer.

Perhaps you’ve been feeling tired for months and want to understand why. Maybe you’re wondering whether the symptoms you’re experiencing are hormone-related, or if something else is going on. Or perhaps you’d simply like a comprehensive health check without waiting for an NHS appointment or referral.

If any of that sounds familiar, we’re pleased to say that private blood testing is now available at The Lomond Clinic. It’s something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for some time, and we’re delighted to be able to offer it.

How our Blood Testing works

Book a blood test appointment with us, and we’ll take care of the rest. You’ll come in to see our nurse, Anna Blackshaw, who’ll take your blood sample here at the clinic. Your sample is then sent to our laboratory, and Dr Joyce Braaksma reviews your results and explains what they mean — usually within one to three working days, though a small number of specialist tests take a little longer.

There’s no need for a GP referral.

What we test for

We’ve developed our blood testing packages around the questions we hear most often, from ongoing tiredness to men’s and women’s health, allergies, and general screening.

Tired All the Time — one of our most popular profiles, because persistent fatigue is incredibly common but often gets brushed aside. It looks at thyroid, iron, vitamin levels, hormones and blood sugar together, to help build a clearer picture of what might be contributing.

For women — our Well Woman Profile, Menopause Profile and Osteoporosis Screening are particularly relevant during perimenopause and menopause, an area Dr Joyce has a particular clinical interest in.

For men — our Well Man Profile and Male Hormone Profile cover general health and hormone levels, and we also offer Stockholm3, a more accurate alternative to PSA testing alone for assessing prostate cancer risk.

General screening and more — we also offer iron and anaemia testing, allergy testing, allergic rhinitis and asthma profiles, gluten sensitivity testing, and mineral screening.

You’ve had your test – what happens next?

Because Dr Joyce and the wider clinical team work together under one roof, your results can feed directly into your ongoing care. Depending on the findings, that might involve treatment, a follow-up consultation, nutritional advice, further investigation or simply the reassurance that everything looks as it should.

We believe that understanding what’s going on with your health is always better than wondering. Whether your results identify something that needs attention or simply provide peace of mind, having the information allows you to make informed decisions about your health.

If you’re unsure which test is right for you, or would like to discuss the options, give us a call on 01436 672677. We’ll be happy to help.
